Bungalow Life (in the Maldives)

You land at Malé International Airport, and walk to your awaiting boat or seaplane. Pictured here is the baggage claim exit.

We quickly found our boat.

En route to Thulhagiri, one of many private islands in the Maldives.

There are less expensive rooms available on the island, but trust me. Splurge! Get an over-the-water bungalow. It’s one of the best financial decisions I’ve ever made.

Each is positioned to give guests an optimal view of the horizon.

Each bungalow has a glass-topped coffee table whose bottom is missing, providing guests with a view of fish and . . .

. . . other creatures.

The sand is so white.

We walked around the entire island . . . in ten minutes. It is quiet and relaxing.

It feels like you’re living atop an aquarium, or walking through a postcard.
